We are a business networking group for female business owners who live and work in the county of Worcestershire. No matter where you are in your business journey, or how big or small your business might be, we welcome you into our network. We’re all about supporting women in business and life.
Marketing Campaign: in the beginning
Women Who, Worcestershire started out as a Facebook group in February 2019. There were five of us who wanted to bring local women in business together, without the formality of other networking groups. We focussed on building connection and support and wanted to work together to raise money for local charities. At that time we weren’t a business, we had no money and no big inclination to invest financially. We made our own website using a very basic WordPress template and it wasn’t great! But it did mean we owned the domain we wanted www.womenwhoworcestershire.co.uk.

Evolving our brand through the approach to digital marketing
Originally the Women Who, Worcestershire brand was green and blue, the colours of Worcestershire but our brand has evolved, moving away from the green, replacing it with lots of gorgeous blues depicting the feel of ‘the sky’s the limit’ – it sits well with our ethos and the way we feel about women in business. We have no limitations and believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and work hard.
Choosing a web designer
In keeping with our “support local women” ethos we wanted to find a web designer who was a part of Women Who, Worcestershire and understood what we were aiming for. That’s how we found Emily from TIEM design. She was already a network member and we instantly connected. We met with Emily and Tim to talk about our ideas and we knew that they both understood how we wanted the website to look and feel. Feminine, but not girly, functional but beautiful. A big ask!
The New Website
We were so excited to share our shiny new website with our members; a website that not only works for us but works for every single member too. Emily has designed and built a website for us that is informative, supportive and user friendly. The website allows us to keep members fully up to date with the latest news and events, and also gives members an even bigger platform to advertise their businesses. It completely hits our brief!
The Directory
Our new website hosts a directory that delivers everything we hoped for. Each business that joins has a clear and beautiful entry telling searchers who they are, what they do and how they can work together, linking people to websites, emails and social media channels.
For just £60 a year members are advertised on our website and across our Women Who, Worcestershire social media platforms. Anyone looking for recommendations online will be connected to our directory. The more the directory grows, the more it will be seen – soon it will become the place everyone goes to find the local businesses they’re looking for.
What difference has the website made?
A huge difference! Women Who, Worcestershire is now being found by more and more people online, not just those who stumble across us on Facebook. Our reach has significantly increased, and as a result, the businesses registered on our directory have also been found more easily by potential customers. It’s a website that works – it shows people who we are and what we do, it introduces our fundraising events and the charities we work with, meaning they also get more attention than they might have done otherwise.
It builds connection – each new directory entry is chance for us to connect with a new member and recommend them to those looking for the products or services they provide. It’s created a buzz around our group – members are excited to see what happens next, just as we are
